OUR VISION

“Steadfast in Truth,
Sacrificial in Grace,
Sowing Seeds of Faith
– All for the Glory of God.”

OUR MINISTRY VALUES

Steadfast in Truth

We believe that preaching and teaching should be biblically based and primarily expositional, theologically instructive, and intended to help us love God and others and transform us to become more like Jesus.
We strive for our gatherings to be God-honoring, Christ-centered, Spirit-led, and saturated by the gospel. We gather together to be transformed, encouraged, and equipped, in order to live our lives as a form of spiritual worship.

Sacrificial in Grace

We believe that the church reflects the spiritual reality of our kinship as brothers and sisters through Jesus Christ. Having its beginnings as an immigrant church has blessed TGC in recognizing the unique perspectives and barriers that our culture can have in our spiritual lives. God has called us to sacrificially display grace: a willingness to learn, engage, and love those of every ethnic and cultural background. In doing so, we hope TGC to be a church for all people to belong.

We believe that when Christ calls us to follow him, he calls us to die to our ourselves in order that we might live unto God. We serve one another, our local community, and our world, so that people might encounter Jesus and follow him.

Sowing Seeds of Faith

We believe that the local church was established to continue Jesus’ work of making disciples through means of evangelism, mission, and service. This is reflected in our financial commitments, training, prayer, and teaching. Whether it be in our small groups, outreach events, or our annual Missions Conference, we take seriously Jesus’ command to be his witnesses in our Judea (local community), Samaria (cross-cultural communities), and ends of the earth (global community).

We believe that the New Testament teaches a plurality of elders as the model of church leadership. Pastors and elected elders should function primarily as shepherds who emphasize the ministry of the word, prayer, and discipleship, in order to equip the church family to fulfill its calling to continue Jesus’ ministry. In addition to those called to be elders, all spiritual gifts are given to the church family to build up one another in love. Every member of our congregation is called to be a witness to the gospel whether it be serving within or outside of the church.

The Glory of God

We believe that the purpose of life and our church family is to love God and enjoy Him forever. God is most glorified when we focus all that we do on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and allow ourselves to be led by the Holy Spirit. Our commitment to prayer, both corporately and privately, stems from the conviction that God alone is able to bring about life and transformation. Prayer is the work of the church because God works for His glory.
