Hope in a Just God Sermon Series

Like many churches, the recent racial tensions within the US has spurred many conversations within the church community as to what justice is and what it means for us to authentically live out our faith. Our sermon series, “Hope in a Just God,” seeks to glean wisdom from the Scriptures as to what God considers justice and how we, as his followers, can place our hope in Him while putting our faith in to action.

Psalm 143. A look at an OT prayer for justice. 


Intervening Justice – Desmond Teo (July 26, 2020)

Isaiah 58. A look how to act justly means we must intervene when we witness instances of injustice.

Preventative Justice – Pearson Lau (August 2, 2020)

Mark 11:12 – 25. A look at how mirroring God’s heart for justice means we must identify forms of injustice and proactively act to stop them from re-occurring. 

Systemic Justice – Pearson Lau (August 9, 2020)

2 Chron 34:14-21. God’s word has the power to shape systems to reflect His character and true justice. A look at Josiah, his prayer, and how God used Him to dismantle systemic injustice. 

Fulfilled Justice – Desmond Teo (August 16, 2020)

Rev 7:9 – 17. A look at how the story ends: God fulfills his promises and establishes perfect justice on earth. For the Christian, this is our ultimate hope.
