I Am Sermon Series

According to John, Jesus had made seven declarative statements about who he is. As we examine each of these seven sayings in-depth, we are able to get a glimpse into not only the identity of Jesus, but who we are in him. 

John 8:12 – 30. An examined look into Jesus’ second saying, “I am the light of the world.” 

John 10:1-10. An examined look into Jesus’ third saying, “I am the door of the sheep.”

John 10:11-18. An examined look into Jesus’ fourth saying, “I am the good shepherd.” 

John 11:17-27. An in-depth look into Jesus’ fifth saying, “I am the resurrection and the life.” 

John 14:1-7. A detailed look into Jesus’ sixth saying, “I am the truth, the way, and the life.” 

John 15:1-11. The series culminates with Jesus’ seventh and final saying, “I am the true vine, you are the branches.”

Hope in a Just God Sermon Series

Like many churches, the recent racial tensions within the US has spurred many conversations within the church community as to what justice is and what it means for us to authentically live out our faith. Our sermon series, “Hope in a Just God,” seeks to glean wisdom from the Scriptures as to what God considers justice and how we, as his followers, can place our hope in Him while putting our faith in to action.

Intervening Justice – Desmond Teo (July 26, 2020)

Isaiah 58. A look how to act justly means we must intervene when we witness instances of injustice.

Preventative Justice – Pearson Lau (August 2, 2020)

Mark 11:12 – 25. A look at how mirroring God’s heart for justice means we must identify forms of injustice and proactively act to stop them from re-occurring. 

Systemic Justice – Pearson Lau (August 9, 2020)

2 Chron 34:14-21. God’s word has the power to shape systems to reflect His character and true justice. A look at Josiah, his prayer, and how God used Him to dismantle systemic injustice. 

Fulfilled Justice – Desmond Teo (August 16, 2020)

Rev 7:9 – 17. A look at how the story ends: God fulfills his promises and establishes perfect justice on earth. For the Christian, this is our ultimate hope.

Sermon Series: TGC Vision

A sermon series focused on the vision of TGC and what we seek to do

2 Cor 4:1-12 – An examination into what it means to be a community “steadfast in truth” and why the Word of God is essential in our understanding of ourselves and the church community.

A look into Luke 15:11 – 32 and how we can reflect the abounding grace of our heavenly Father in our church community. 

The call to follow Jesus is a call to sacrifice our preferences and comforts in order to make others more comfortable. Guest speaker Desmond Teo unpacks Eph 2 and the radical new family that God invites us into.

 

Luke 10:25-37 – a sermon one what it means for us to fulfill the Great Commission by reaching out to those around us indiscriminately.
